Ableton Serato The Bridge

Ableton and Serato bridge the gap between music production and DJing with The Bridge. The Bridge requires Serato Scratch Live 2.1.1 and Ableton Live/Suite 8.2 or above. Open both programs at the same time with Rane hardware attached to activate The Bridge online.

Remix Your Own Tracks Live

The Bridge gives you turntable-style control of your own multitrack productions. Simply drag an Ableton Live Set to a deck in Scratch Live and use your turntables or CDJ to control the transport. Scratch Live enhances your productions with deck control, mixing, nudging and DJ style looping, while you can remix, mute/solo tracks, use virtual instruments, change drum patterns, manipulate audio, tweak effects and launch loops on the fly in Ableton Live.

Welcome To The Next Level

Apart from your Scratch Live hardware, using an additional dedicated controller such as Akai Professional APC40, APC20, or Novation Launchpad opens up your game for more mixing, effects handling and for triggering clips.

Learn How To Set Up Your Gear

If you're just getting started with Ableton Live, you'll want to go through the Ableton Live lessons, located inside the program in the Help View

The World

Behind the scenes, Ableton and Serato have implemented a two-way communication link to connect the programs. The timing is tight and it doesn't matter which program you open first.

DMC Online DJ Championship 2012 Announcement

The 2012 Online DJ Championship will have some fundamental changes to last year, including free entry for all competitors.

There will be THREE VOTING HEATS and a FINAL where performances will be judged by the public and established DMC World Champion DJs. Each heat will have a four week entry period before all films are revealed in a one week voting period.

Prizes include $3000 cash and an all expenses trip to the September DMC WORLD FINALS in London with the option to compete live for the ultimate DJ title or just simply join the world's National DJ champions as a VIP spectator.
A treasure trove of equipment will make up this handsome prize. There will also be prizes for heat winners and runners up and the voting public will also be given their chance to win prizes from the event's top DJ equipment sponsors.

In 2011 DMC attracted 1.7m viewers from 190 countries. Talenthouse is a social media technology platform enabling an exciting public voting experience for the 2012 Online DMC World Championships via Facebook and Twitter. The contest will be open to aspiring and pro DJs globally. All submitting DJs will gain new fans, followers and recognition through the process.

The DJ ONLINE CHAMPIONSHIP is different from any of the three existing DMC live contests which are staged annually in up to 40 nations and include the Battle for World Supremacy (single head to head knock-outs); the DJ Team Championship and the main DMC WORLD DJ CHAMPIONSHIP. In the Online competition, because the DJs have all the time in the world to film their two minute set in the comfort of their own home, DMC allow them to use any equipment they wish, vinyl, CD, computers, keyboards, etc. This freedom of choice cannot be contained in the annual live on stage competitions due to the technical difficulties in changing so much equipment in front of a live audience. On this basis the ONLINE event is the world's only OPEN DJ contest where anything goes. It is regarded as the event which will most influence DJ presentation in future years.
